Picking up swarms is a part of our commitment to our community and our environment. Swarmed honey bee colonies have to be given a new home, treated for diseases and most likely given a new queen (because once a queen has swarmed, she is likely to do it again).
Honey bees in this state are, in most cases, very docile and easy to handle. We rarely use protective clothing or a smoker when picking them up. It can be a little intimidating when you see an enormous black cloud of bees flying through your yard, but don’t panic, just leave them alone and call a beekeeper….we’ll take care of it.
